How to Build a Psychedelic or Spiritual Business (With Integrity) from the Ground Up (Part 2)

This is part two of building your psychedelic business (with integrity) from the ground up. If you haven’t read part one, you can check it out here: Building a Thriving Psychedelic Business from the Ground Up (Part 1).

As a spiritual business coach, I run programs like The True Path Entrepreneur 12-month Group Business Coaching & Mastermind Program, 1-1 Private Coaching and 7-week You Are The Medicine Group Intensive Program.

In my business coaching programs, I’m able to dive deeper with people who are looking to build and grow their coaching, healing or therapy businesses but may be feeling lost or overwhelmed with where to start or what steps to take.

I want to share some insights of the processes we cover. Although the process in both programs are essentially the same, the depth of the journey will clearly be more significant the longer the commitment is.

Avoid this common misconception in your approach to marketing and finding clients

So to refresh your memory, what prompted part one and two of this article was that someone who I don’t know at all sent me a DM on my social media. She asked me to be a referral/affiliate partner for her psychedelic medicine retreats and her underground psychedelic “therapy” work.

What does this translate to? Well, she wanted me to share about her psychedelic work with my network, clients, friends, etc, and she offered me money for every client I sent her.

If you’ve been following me for a while, you’ve probably heard me say that I get approached with these offers ALL THE TIME, but it’s usually with people who I kind of “know” virtually.

But this particular message shocked me.

This is someone who’s doing psychedelic work and asking me, a complete stranger, for referrals to do psychedelic work.

It left me wondering… why can’t she get clients all on her own, without asking random strangers to send her clients?

Of course, I have some affiliates to do have partners for my Psychedelic Summits or some of my programs, but the key differences here are that these affiliates are often friends of mine, and I’m also NOT giving people psychedelics.

Here’s the thing, learning how to effectively run and grow a successful spiritual or psychedelic business can be challenging when you’re not sure what advice to follow.

The person who sent me that random DM might have read somewhere or been told that this was an effective marketing strategy. I’m here to tell you that this is NOT a beneficial method for any business owner to do, especially one who wants to build their business with integrity, alignment, and trust.

Another common misconception that stunts business growth

Here’s another misconception about starting a psychedelic business that I see all the time. There’s a belief that if you have a psychedelic business, “people will come”.

While the psychedelic space is growing in popularity and more people are interested in it, it’s not true that starting your business is all it takes to attract clients to you.

You have to remember that we live in a very noisy world right now. For example, just today you’ve probably listened to a podcast, watched something on YouTube, checked your emails, or maybe you’ve spent time on all of your social media platforms.

Aside from the digital noise, you probably also had to work, deal with friends and family, and manage a household or raise kids.

There’s an endless list of things trying to grab our attention, so it’s important to keep in mind that just because you go and say “I have a psychedelic business now”, that people will pay attention and come to you. It’s not true.

Instead, it’s better to thoughtfully craft a plan that helps you ensure that you’re found by the kind of people that want what you offer. The goal is not to attract just anybody. Your efforts should be focused on attracting your ideal clients and learning how to earn their trust.

When a person trusts the information that you share, they’ll be more inclined to want to work with you. This is how to build a long term sustainable business.

The real process of getting clarity to get clients

People often come to me saying, “I’m struggling to get clients… What’s the problem? I thought everybody wanted psychedelics?”.

Well here’s the problem with that. They’re neglecting foundational steps to building their business, each of which I teach in my different Business Coaching Program.

So, this is a process I teach that is step-by-step over seven weeks, and it’s super simple.

It won’t cost you extra money. You don’t need a website. You don’t need to run ads. You don’t need graphics. You need nothing.

First, you need to get clear on what you want to be doing in our business.

Do you have clarity around what you’re offering? Do you even have a core offering? If not, that’s what you will learn in my programs.

You’ll learn how to create one core offer that aligns with your ideal clients, how to package the offer, and how to price it. You need to create an offer that your ideal clients actually want so that they say “Yes!”.

If you don’t have clarity about your offer, you may have multiple offers expecting that more is better because you’ll make more money (which isn’t true). Having several offers actually confuses your potential clients.

Instead, you should hone in and ask yourself:

  • Who are you as a coach, healer, therapist or other service provider?
  • What do you want to achieve?
  • Who are your ideal clients and what do they want?
  • What are they struggling with?
  • What do they hope to achieve from working with you?
  • What is your greater mission and “why”?

I have a diagram that outlines this that I call the Golden Pyramid of Divine Abundance. It explains in very simple terms how you have to have three core things in balance:

  • What you want
  • What your ideal clients want
  • What your greater mission is

Your business has to serve you first and foremost…overgiving or burning yourself out doesn’t serve your clients, the world, or you.

Your larger mission is your guiding light of why you want to do what you do. For example, do you want to do underground psychedelic therapy because you think it’s an easy way to make money? Or do you really want to help create healing and transformation by helping one person at a time?

When you know what you want to be doing and why you are called to do it, this becomes your beacon, the guiding light in your entire business.

And building that golden pyramid involves getting clarity in your business around the “You” piece – what is it that you want? What do you want to offer? How are you going to learn how to effectively communicate what it is you’re offering, so that people want to say yes, and will choose you over others?

This industry is growing exponentially fast, and as it grows, it’s going to get more challenging for you to figure out how to attract clients and how to work with people on a long term basis so that your business is truly supported and sustainable.

How will you stand out from the other coaches, healers, facilitators and therapists?

Of course, everybody is excited about psychedelic decriminalization and legalization, but as there is more interest and so many kinds of psychedelic training programs out there now, there are naturally more and more people getting into this space.

So what will help YOU stand out? And why should someone trust YOU –  to pay you their hard-earned money to work with you?

How will you actually help people create real, lasting transformation in their lives?

Because that’s the entire purpose of working with psychedelics in the first place, right?

And this is why it’s important to know how to effectively communicate the value in your offer so that you can start to build credibility, trust, and connection with your ideal clients.

They may not say yes to you right away, but they’re following you and trying to get to know you. And soon the day will come when they’re ready to work with you. But I’ll be honest, the chances that you’re going to have a high-paying client randomly find you on Instagram and sign up to your program is actually very rare.

You have to learn how to effectively communicate to the kind of people you want to work with. They want to hear your perspectives and feel that you’re speaking directly to them.

When they feel that they can resonate with your messaging, they’ll begin to trust you. This is how you build a long lasting connection with the people you want to help.

Calling in the right clients (this is not just some product you’re selling!)

Psychedelic work, integration work, somatic or  embodiment work, coaching therapy, space holding, healing work – all of these practices are no joke. This work involves holding deep trauma. You’re dealing with people’s somatic, people’s minds and their thought processes, including their limiting beliefs and their blocks and doubts about themselves.

You’re dealing with the human experience.

This is not the same as selling an online course to teach you how to use Tik Tok. People are so used to all the noise on the internet. You’ll see someone with 50,000 followers on Instagram and a podcast and believe they must be successful. But you don’t know how many clients they have, how much they’re earning, and whether or not they’re actually running a viable business.

Attracting in soul-aligned clients

More important than a large following is the ability to speak the language of your ideal clients. I’ll use myself as an example.

The people that join my 7-Week Group Program are often people that are just starting out with their businesses. They don’t have clarity and don’t know what they want to do, but they want to start exploring it.

There’s also people who kinda know what they want to do but aren’t sure what to do first. They just want a clear set of steps to follow.

And then there are people who have started their business but they’re not earning money and they don’t know how to find clients consistently and they can’t figure out what’s wrong.

Those are the three categories of people I speak to. They tend to be people on the medicine path, on the psychedelic healing path, and people who have a deeper purpose who have done a lot of healing and integration work themselves.

I’m NOT trying to speak to everybody who wants to grow a business.

It would be impossible. I speak to a particular group of people out there who want to grow a specific kind of business. I attract people who are willing to go into this amazing transformational portal for 7 weeks.

This is where they’ll learn to step into their leadership and feel more competence about sharing their unique medicine, their truth, and their voice. They’ll emerge with a business that is viable.

Very often people end up getting clients in the first two steps of my program. My goal is always to do what it takes to get results for my clients as fast as possible. This is a fast way to grow your business. This is also the right way where you’re really honing in on the Root Chakra of the business.

That’s why this is called Building a Thriving Psychedelic Business from the Ground Up… not from posting on TikTok, not from starting with ads, not from starting with a website.

If you start with these higher level things, but you don’t even know what to say on Tik Tok, or you have no clue what to publish on your website, you’ll end up spending time and money without seeing any results.

This is why it’s so important to learn the proper steps to build any kind of psychedelic business or spiritual business.

Not all of my clients have psychedelic businesses, but it’s still important to learn how to build it the right way from the very beginning, so that you have a long term sustainable business that truly supports you.

I’m here to help spiritual entrepreneurs and psychedelic pioneers start to grow and get clients in their business so that they can actually help people and create a greater transformation on our planet.

We need people, people like you, now more than ever to step into your purpose. Know that when you have support from a coach from the community, that you’re going to be held throughout the journey, and it’s much easier than winging it all by yourself.

Trust me having support is the fastest, easiest way to grow your spiritual business, and if you get one client from all your learning this program, the entire program pays for itself.

What I always say is you trust yourself to help one human being on planet Earth. Do you think you can help one person who pays you money? Are you able to accept money from one person? If so, join us as you are in one of my soul-centered business coaching programs.

My group programs have an incredible groups of people that are just dedicated to their soul’s purpose and know that they’re here to serve even if they don’t know what they’re unique offer is yet.

I hope this post has helped you understand the importance of starting your business off right with integrity and purpose.
