One of the most profound books I’ve ever read is The Big Leap by Gay Hendricks.

In the book, Hendricks talks about how we “upper limit” ourselves.

He describes the upper limit as a “glass ceiling.” This glass ceiling limits us from having trust in our Divine Path.

When we hit our upper limit, we hold ourselves back from having all the success… all the happiness… all the joy, and all the love we could ever want.

And now that I’m aware of my upper limit, I watch out for it all the time

For example, I had an amazing time with my partner last weekend. We were alone, he cooked some amazing food. We laughed, chilled out, watched the beautiful fall colors of the changing seasons…

We both came out of the weekend lighter, rejuvenated… and more connected to each other.

But after that weekend was over, I forced myself to acknowledge how enlivening the weekend was. Why? Because if I didn’t acknowledge my expansive weekend, I knew I’d sabotage my life somehow in the next couple of days.

Expansion, contraction.

The point is, when you hit your upper limit, it’s human nature to bring yourself back down to where you feel comfortable immediately.

It’s easy to go back to old bad habits, old limiting beliefs that do nothing but sabotage your joy.

The hard part is deeply trusting yourself throughout intense times of growth.

Speaking of intense growth, the upper limit problem happens a lot when you go to the jungle for deep Sacred Plant Medicine work.

The first time I read The Big Leap a few years ago, I was down in the Peruvian jungle for a two-week traditional plant medicine dieta.

While I was down there, I hung out with monkeys and butterflies, bathed in the most beautiful, pristine river on earth, and blew my heart wiiiddde open.

Essentially, I had one of the most profound spiritual experiences of my life, and then…

💥 Boom!

Before I knew it, I was back in the “real world” feeling vulnerable and raw.

But life went on. I had to deal with all the “normal” stuff like:

My bills. My house. My business. My car.

At this precise moment, when I was utterly overwhelmed by reality, I risked succumbing to my upper limit. I risked going back to my old bad habits and falling into a pit of emotional despair.

To avoid a relapse, I needed to understand what happens to my brain during intense spiritual experiences.

You see, when you have intense spiritual experiences, you expand out of your ego-mind more than you ever have before.

Then, when you come back to “reality”…

your ego freaks out. It comes back with a vengeance, and tries to get a vice-grip on your entire energy system!

Why?

Because your “old self” is comfortable to your ego, and your ego wants to stay comfortable.

So it creates drama to pull you back into all your old 💩 sh*t 💩.

Fortunately, there is a way to avoid relapse while you are in “growth-mode”…

All it takes is someone else to hold you accountable, to guide you through the growth process, and hold space for you to quantum leap into an upleveled version of yourself!

Creating a life of freedom, where you have complete control of your time, is just like any other growth process.

Your ego will flare up. It’ll try to pull you back into what’s familiar to you.

So you have to catch it “in the act.”

Yes, you can do it alone.

But it’s soooo much faster, easier, less lonely, less painful when you get support, accountability, community and structure of knowing what to do first, and next and next

This is exactly why I created  my spiritual business coaching programs to give you step by step guidance and accountability to know what to do first, what to do next, and create your life of freedom and fulfillment.

-> why you do not need a website yet!

-> why, you do not need thousands of IG followers!

-> why you do not even need to know the details of your business or program.

-> why, you do not have to “heal yourself” first.

-> And why you especially do not need to know how your business is going to look in a few months, a few years, or even next week!

Jumping ahead like this is how many of my clients come to me in my Group Business Mastermind Program…

They feel STUCK. FRUSTRATED. OVERWHELMED. Maybe they’ve tried to start their business, but they’re LOST and having no luck getting clients…

They spent $$$ on a pretty website, but they wonder why no one has booked a call with them….

They post on IG every day, but no one has signed up for their program.

They’ve maybe even hosted a workshop or talk, but nothing came out of it except a couple hundred bucks (which does not = a sustainable income!)

If you ever feel like you don’t know how to start…you don’t know what to do next, then it might be time to consider getting some support.  You know where to find my business coaching offerings when you’re ready!
